Day-by-day programme
DAY 2
Ala-Archa National Park → Bishkek
Excursion to Ala-Archa Gorge with light mountain walks and panoramic views. Return to Bishkek.
DAY 3
Bishkek → Burana → Issyk- Kul (North Shore)
Visit Burana Tower and its archaeological complex. Continue through Boom Gorge to Issyk-Kul. Overnight at the lakeshore.
DAY 4
Issyk-Kul → Cholpon-Ata → Karakol
Visit the open-air petroglyph site and museum in Cholpon-Ata. Drive to Karakol and explore old streets in the evening.
DAY 5
Karakol → Jeti-Oguz → Karakol
City tour: Dungan Mosque, Russian Orthodox Church, bazaar. Excursion to Jeti-Oguz Gorge with its red sandstone formations. Return to Karakol.
DAY 6
Karakol → Karkara Valley
Drive to the high-mountain Karkara valley on the Kyrgyz– Kazakh border. Wide alpine landscapes and quiet nature. Overnight in Karkara.
DAY 7
Karkara → Kolsay (Kazakhstan)
Cross into Kazakhstan. Visit Kolsay Lake and take an easy lakeside walk. Overnight near Kolsay.
DAY 8
Kolsay → Charyn Canyon → Almaty
Drive to Charyn Canyon for a walk through the Valley of Castles. Continue to Almaty for overnight.
DAY 9
Departure
Transfer to Almaty Airport
