Tour Overview
The Baikonur tour is a special offer. Just imagine, in Soviet times, Baikonur was a secret and closed military town, and the spaceport was the most secret. Today, there is a great opportunity to learn about the history of astronautics, see real missiles and spaceships, and meet the people who dedicated their lives to Space Exploration.
The Baikonur Spaceport tour consists of three parts:
- First Destination: Nur-Sultan (Astana), the brand new capital of Kazakhstan. An ultra-modern metropolis and the northernmost capital city in Asia.
- Second Destination: Baikonur town and the Museum of the History of Astronautics. Visit the Baikonur space center to see launching platforms, hangars, and the museum of astronautics with the real space shuttle Buran, where you can try to take hold of the controls.
- Third Destination: Almaty, the southern capital of Kazakhstan, situated in the center of the Eurasian continent at the foothills of the Trans-Ili Ala-Tau Mountains. From Almaty, there is a one-day trip to Charyn Canyon, where you will enjoy an unforgettable view of a huge gorge with cliffs of various colors and shades.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Day - Nur-Sultan Airport
Arrival in Nur-Sultan (Astana), the capital city of Kazakhstan. Full day city sightseeing: Constitution Square, Presidential Centre of Culture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, shopping center Khan Shatyr, “Astana-Baiterek” monument, Kazakh Eli Square, Khazret Sultan Mosque, and Palace of Independence. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2: Nur-Sultan - Kyzylorda - Baikonur
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport for the flight to Kyzylorda. Arrival at Kyzylorda airport, transfer to the train station (Train #41 Kyzylorda-Baikonur). Arrival at Baikonur train station. Meeting with local guide and driver, transfer to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Baikonur
Breakfast at the hotel. City sightseeing: walk in the city, see monuments devoted to space exploration. Visit Baikonur Cosmodrome Museum and “Buran” Reusable Orbital Ship Complex. After the city tour, transfer to the launching pad, Site number 254, and Site number 1, “Gagarin’s start” complex. Return to the city. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4: Baikonur - Almaty
Early check-out, transfer to the train station (Train #24 EOD Baikonur-Kyzylorda). Arrival in Kyzylorda, transfer to the airport for a flight to Almaty. PM arrival at Almaty Airport. Transfer to the center and have a short city tour: visit Panfilov Park – named after the 28 heroes, Zenkov Cathedral, and a Memorial complex devoted to World War II. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5: Almaty – Charyn Canyon – Almaty
After breakfast, depart Almaty and drive to Charyn Canyon. Upon arrival, walk along the canyon and enjoy its beautiful scenery. Walk until Charyn River and have a picnic, then leisure time. Return to Almaty. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6: Departure Day
Transfer to the airport. See the group off.
