Itinerary of the trip:

Day 1 ARRIVAL DAY
Arrival in Beijing. Lunch at local restaurant. PM visit Tiananmen and Forbidden City. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in hotel.


Day 2 BEIJING-URUMCHI (flight)
Flight to Urumchi. Lunch at local restaurant. PM visit Xinjian Museum. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in hotel.


Day 3 URUMCHI-TURPAN
Drive to Turpan. Lunch at local restaurant. PM visit ruins of Jiaohe ancient city, Karez Well and Emin minaret. Visit Flaming mountain, Bezaklik Buddist Gratoes, Grape Valley. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in hotel.


Day 4 TURPAN-KASHGAR
Drive back to Urumchi for flight to Kashgar. Arrive in Kashgar.


Day 5 KASHGAR
Visit Abakhoja Mausoleum, Sunday market and Mosque Eidkah. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in hotel.


Day 6 KASHGAR-KARAKUL LAKE-KASHGAR
Excursion to Karakul lake.


Day 7 KASHGAR-TORUGART
Drive to Kyrgyz-China Torugart Pass. Meet the group at Kyrgyz-Chinese border “Torugart”. After border formalities drive to Naryn with lunch-boxes. Dinner and overnight in guest house.


Day 8 NARYN-ISSYK-KUL (265 KM, 4-5 HRS)
After breakfast drive to Issyk-Kul. Visit Petroglyphs of Cholpon-Ata. Dinner and overnight in hotel.


Day 9 ISSYK-KUL-KARAKOL (140 KM, 2-3 HRS)
After breakfast excursion to Grigorievskoe gorge with picnic. After picnic drive to Karakol. Visit Museum of Przhevalski, Dungan Mosque and Orthodox Church. Dinner and overnight in guest house.


Day 10 KARAKOL-BISHKEK (445 KM, 7-8 HRS)
Early morning drive to Bishkek. En route visit Burana Tower and Ak-Beshim ruins. Lunch en route. Dinner at local restaurant in Bishkek. Overnight in guest house.


Day 11 BISHKEK-ALMATY (250 KM, 5-6 HRS)
After breakfast sightseeing of Bishkek. Visit History Museum, Ala-Too Square & Panfilov Park. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch drive to Almaty via “Ak-Jol” (Kordai) pass. Dinner and overnight in hotel.


Day 12 ALMATY
After breakfast city tour. Visit Panfilov Park, Zenkov Cathedral, Museum of Musical Instruments and Central State Museum. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch visit “Medeo”. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in hotel.


Day 13 ALMATY-TASHKENT (flight)
After breakfast drive to Almaty International airport for flight to Tashkent. Meet the group at Tashkent airport. Transfer to Tashkent. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch city tour in Tashkent – visit Kukeldash Madrassah and Khast Imam Square, Barak Khan Madrassah, Tillya Sheykh Mosque and Kafal Shashi Mausoleum. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in hotel.


Day 14 TASHKENT-SAMARKAND (300 KM, 5-6 HRS)
Drive to Samarkand. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch sightseeing of Reghistan square Sandy place – ensemble of majestic madrassahs 5-17 cc., ranks first in Central Asia and among the greatest of all the grandiose and magnificent works of the Islamic world. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in hotel.


Day 15 SAMARKAND
Full day tour in Samarkand: visit to Gur Emir; Bibi Khanym Mosque (15 c.). Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch visit to Shakhi Zinda (The Living King) – necropolis of Samarkand rulers and nobles; Ulugbek Observatory (1420) – the remains of an immense (30 m. tall) astrolabe for observing star position, part of three-storey observatory and Afrosiab ruins and museum with fragments of 7th century frescoes. Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.


Day 16 SAMARKAND-BUKHARA (470 KM, 7-8 HRS)
Drive to Bukhara via Shahrezabz. Visit: Ak Saray (White Palace) – Summer residence of Tamerlane (14 c.), Kok Gumbaz (Blue Dome) – Friday mosque (15 c.) built by Ulukbek in honor of his father and Dorut Tilyavat (House of Meditation) – burial complex of Timur’s forebears. Also visit Crypt of Timur – an underground room, which was discovered in 1963.


Day 17 BUKHARA
Full day city tour. Visit Poi Kalon Ensemble (Pedestal of the Great), the square separates the Mir-I-Arab Madrassah and the Kalon Jummi mosque, Taqi Zargaron (1570), or Jeweler’s Bazaar, Taqi Telpak Furushon or Cap Markers’ Bazaar and Taqi Sarrafon, or Moneychangers Bazaar, which were among dozens of specialized bazaars in the town, Magok-I-Atory Mosque – the remains of a Buddhist monastery, a Zoroastrian temple and the mosque of the Arab invaders, all sharing the same place and Lyabi Hauz Ensemble. Lunch at local restaurant. After lunch visit Ark fortress, Bolo Hauz Mosque (“Mosque Near the Pool”) (1972), Ismoil Samani Mausoleum and Chashma Ayub (“Spring of Job”) – built in 12 century over a spring. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in hotel.


Day 18 BUKHARA
Full day out of the city tour of Bukhara – visit Chor Minor (Four Minarets) (1807) – one of the most charming and quirky buildings in Bukhara and Sitora-I-Mohi Khosa – the Emir's summer palace, built by the Russians in 1911 for the last Emir Alim Khan. After lunch at local restaurant visit Bakhauddin Naqshbandi Ensemble – Bukhara’s holiest sight, a place of shrines, stories and superstitions, of burgeoning faith and parallel Islam. It is also the bureal place of one of Sufic Islam’s founders of holiest saint, Khazreti Muhammed Bakhauddin Naqshbandi (1318-1389). Dinner and overnight in hotel.


Day 19 BUKHARA-URGENCH (480 KM, 8-9 HRS)
Day drive to Urgench. Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight in hotel.


Day 20 URGENCH-KHIVA
Full day visit Khiva. Visit Ichan Kala (Inner town), Mohammed Amin Khan madrassah (1852-1855) – the largest of its kind in the city with a capacity of 250 Islamic students; Kelte Minor (“Short minaret”) commissioned be the khan in 1852 to stand (at over 70 m) as the biggest in the Islamic world, but abandoned in the wake of his death at a frustrated 26 meters. Also visit Kunya Ark (Old Fortress) the Khiva rullers’ residence, Pakhlavan Mahmud mausoleum, Islam Khoja maddrassah (1908) and minaret (1910)- Khiva’s newest Islamic monuments; Juma mosque (1788) (Friday Mosque). Lunch at hotel. After lunch visit Tosh Howli (Stone House) – residence, built by Allah Kuli Khan between 1832 and 1841 as a more splendid slternative to the Kunya Ark; Allah Kuli Khan madrassah (1835), and caravanserai. Flight to Tashkent.


Day 21 DEPARTURE DAY
Transfer to airport for departure flight.
